A quick Oh. My. God. OLD people are listening to this song now! I think For those who didn't happen to know about this gem, it's on YouTube. (Embedding disabled, darn it.) Aha! But THIS one is embeddable! EDIT1 And if the embed borks on this one too, here's the link. EDIT2 And if THAT doesn't work (DAMN YouTube!!)...just imagine Kermit the Frog singing "Hurt". Nuff said. EDIT3 AHA!!! Go to the source: SadKermit.com. fic pointer: "All the Sinners Saints," Baccano!, Which Way Home @ 06:29 pmCurrent Mood:
productive...I might have mentioned, I really like writing this series. And now Ronnie's let me get into more of my favorite issues to go along with the themes we already had going. ^_^ January 1932 - Away for So Long (Dallas+Eve) February 1932 - Deep Breaths (Luck/Dallas) April 1932 - Queer (Luck/Dallas) May 1932 - A Bridge to Sell You (Luck/Dallas) December 1933 - All the Sinners Saints (Ronnie/Luck) <- you are here! [some other bits I haven't written yet] sometime in 1939 - Attica ca. 2000 - Calling Home (Luck/Dallas) All the Sinners Saints, Ronnie/Luck with background Luck/Dallas and Claire/Luck, ~4400 words, not worksafe. Suchiato produces cut crystal glasses and pours both of them rich amber liquor, handing one glass to Luck with a smile. "You shouldn't be so sure I can't help you," he says. Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random. Step 2: Post the first line(s) from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song. (Skip the instrumentals, the remixes and the mashups) Step 3: Let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from. (The main playlist is system-wide, so anything goes!) Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly. Aaaand, I’m going for 30 here – 20 just seems stingy, but 50 is more than our work-addled brain can deal with tonight. 1. Hey, mister see the sister 2. I see you watching 3. Mou daijoubu mitsu no ato kimi wo dakishimeru 4. Well I was there on the day ( the rest... ) Fandom helps? @ 04:33 pmCurrent Mood:
I'm trying to help out a friend in need -- please take a look at this post in my main journal, and donate if you can. Thank you. GR *fidge* ...drabbles? @ 12:41 pmI am so fidgey and distracted today. I want something to work on that doesn't take concentration. >-> So behold, quick and dirty drabble challenge! I'm sure I will regret this. Give me a character or pairing and the title of a song. Make it an interesting title. :3 Fandoms: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Baccano! Persona 3 Nocturne um you can ask about others but no promises ...I'm not sure how many of these I'm honestly up for, so I'll take 8 instead of 12 this time. Go? 1. someone in the Gurren Brigade, "Like Foxes Through Fences," 2. Rossiu, "Skylines and Turnstiles," 3. Ishvar alchemists, "Beds Are Burning," 4. Shinjiro/Akihiko, "Wrapped in Piano Strings," 5. Ladd, "Take It Easy (Love Nothing)," 6. AXM boys, "Jesters of the Moon," 7. Claire and Luck, "How to Handle a Rope," 8. Junpei, "You're Gonna Miss This," Meme, whut? We never do these! ^_~ @ 02:24 pmStep 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random. Step 2: Post the first line(s) from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song. (Skip the instrumentals, the remixes and the mashups) Step 3: Let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from. (PS: Not all of these are mine. D:) Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly. We've included 33 songs here and for every correct guess, we will put a song up for download in a massive music download post. Which ones do you know? ^_^ 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Come closer now ( The rest ) What's going on? @ 01:35 pmSo, this week we have an inconvenience at ye goode olde apartment. They are resurfacing/resealing the parking lots. This is good for driving and parking on nice smooth pavement, bad for trying to get around the crews to home. Also bad because of our asphalt allergy. Guess we will be living in air-conditioning for the next few days. School starts next Thursday. I think that we plan on going to the New Students Welcome Banquet on Tuesday, but not staying for the food. We want to get the orientation to the rec center and find our classes ahead of time. Also would like to possibly get the student id andparking permit (should we need it) Over all we are feeling much better lately. The exhaustion has pretty much left ad the blues are almost non-existant. Genesis has been reading a lot lately. He finished Orestes a couple days ago and has started Alcetis (both by Euripedes). I have a theory that he is prepping for the Philosophy class, since it involves reading Plato. This way he can get into the Greek mindset a bit...I guess. ALl I know is that he said that he likes the banter between Apollo and Death in the Alcestis book. Other than just dealing with daily life issues of meals, cleaning and preparing to enter University - life has been pretty quiet here. It's how we like it, actually. Finances are still a bit overwhelming, but we will get through that hurdle eventually. How's your day going? August 19th, 2008(no subject) @ 05:17 pmI was supposed to upload things a long time ago! Butthole Surfers--Pepper Lacuna Coil--Fragile KT Tunstall--Miniature Disaster ficlet: "Cockpit," TTGL @ 07:45 am...I swear the internet is conspiring to make me write this pairing, you guys. >-> For Pure goddamn porn, ~550 words, very rough because -- as per the challenge rules -- I did this in fifteen minutes. hopefulHappy birthday, Surface, Shinjiro/Akihiko in Trinity Soul continuity (so AU for both, basically), ~1800 words, suggestive on the m/m front but not explicit. Trinity Soul spoilers through about episode 15. It's nearing midnight, and Akihiko is brewing another pot of coffee -- and hating himself for it; at least if it were tea he could tell himself the antioxidants made up for the caffeine -- when his phone buzzes. He pulls it off his belt. "Sanada." "Thought you'd still be awake." Akihiko blinks, and sits down hard in one of the rickety chairs at his kitchen table. "Shinji," he says. This weekend, we worked Saturday and Sunday for the mom. She paid us in money and fudge, so that was a very good deal I must say. :3 Zack drove both nights, and amusement followed. Saturday, Sephiroth went with him. We were dog tired, as we'd worked that morning at 6:30 and really hadn't managed a decent nap after. Still, he was cheerful, and we had our iPod, so this was good. He nearly made it all the way through the 3+ hour, middle-of-nowhere, middle-of-the-night run before the sleepies started dragging him down. In desperation to stay awake, he asked Zack for a piece of gum. (I'm not sure if we've mentioned this before, but on the route, the Romys are fond of Dentyne Ice, Arctic Chill flavor -- you know, the one in the ominous black box? The one that Sephiroth thinks is akin to a nuclear assault on the tongue? Yeah, THAT gum.) Anyway...desperation, gum. He chomps down on it cautiously, anticipating the burn, and when it comes he takes it mostly like a man. He does bitch, however: "Damn, that's hot! It's burning the hell out of my mouth!" To which the iPod (lovingly possessed by Aerith) plays a song that starts with "One, two, three -- FIRE!!1!1!!!" At least he managed not to choke on his gum. :3 Sunday run was mine. We had the entire route to do instead of splitting it with the mom, so I knew it'd be a long night. They started printing late -- an hour late. And the bundles were just awkward (inserts in 7s, papers in 22s -- not bad, just less than good). Got through the first route, started on the second. Pulled up to a box. I noticed something orange on the ground, thought it was an old newspaper in a plastic bag. Zack put the truck in park, an odd look on his face. He grabbed the flashlight and got out. Came back...with a dog. A little orange plushie dog. Did I mention it was orange? Tangerine, actually... I think he's our new route mascot. :3 And now that we've had some sleep and some free fudge, we'll hopefully be back on track tomorrow and ready to face the world on our Real Day Off. five favorite fics meme @ 11:44 amCurrent Mood:
happy...I was going to combine this with the "ten awesome people on your flist" meme that Matter of fact, I'm almost afraid of doing something like that with stories, which clearly do not have feelings to hurt. er. >->; So the point of this meme is to choose your top five favorites of your own fics -- not the ones that you think are "best," necessarily, or the ones that got the most response, but the ones that you liked most, for whatever reason. I...Have about a zillion stories to choose from! (...Not quite. There are ~320 pieces on my web site.) So narrowing it down was pretty tricky. But here's a go at them: Practically a Fairy Tale, the one where Basch and Vossler are members of the Feitas River Dragon Cavalry. I had such a good time putting the two of them into Suiko-verse, and writing the dragon horses, and the part where Vossler turns out to be a big smooshy romantic when he's not under kingdom-destroying stress. To Call It Home, the only substantial Sleepy Hollow story I ever finished, and still one of my longer fanfic pieces (at ~7700 words), and -- well. It's melodramatic and over-the-top and the language is utterly tormented in spots, and that was so much fun. Oh, Ichabod. Pinions, origin fic for the Advent Children triplets. Really all about Sephiroth. There's sex in this eventually, but that wasn't the point for me in writing it; I really loved doing all the bits about being raised in a lab and strategies for staying sane. Mean Streets: I want to cheat and list all of SDR&R, which was actually a damn good time to write. But if I have to pick just one, it's this one, where Roxas and Axel first meet. Clear as the Sun, one of my HC Drace/Gabranth stories. The one that started with the Song of Solomon, Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?, and just went on from there. My love affair with the language of FFXII, let me show you it. And now, cheating: I want to be able to list all the series things I've done -- SDR&R, BCAU, Which Way Home -- when I start writing continuities like that, it's because I'm having a damn good time with them. I wanted to have time to list some Baccano! fic, because it's been a great fandom to play in! I feel like a lot of my "miscellaneous" category deserved mention! Also, why isn't there any SMT fic in this list? Five is way too short a number. But I am already slacking on helping with the unpacking effort, so I should get going instead of making a "next five" and "five more" list. ^^; Tagging you -- yes, you -- if you're interested. August 16th, 2008Where we are @ 11:33 pmTrying to make it easy on friends to keep in touch with us. So, this is where we will be crossposting: IJ: teamromy LJ: romys_base Inksome: teamromy Scribbld: teamromy If you are on any of those services and want to friend us there, go ahead. If you maintain an IJ, we we most likely read you here first. We may only check the other services once a week. (no subject) @ 06:26 pmThe idea of my girlfriend nursing a robin back to health is admittedly really amusing. -R. August 15th, 2008A Candlelit Dinner [Aoki/Karen] @ 05:24 pmLast of current challenges! This was a structural nightmare. Do tell me if it actually makes sense. Title: A Candlelit Dinner Author: Fandom: X/1999 Pairing: Aoki/Karen Rating: PG-13 Warnings: Sexual implications, but nothing explicit. Request: 64. intoxicated as much by each other's skin as by the champagne Wordcount: 527 ( The lights are low in Karen's apartment ) Fire and Ice (FFVII; Sephiroth) @ 04:16 pmTitle: Fire and Ice ( Fire and Ice ) We're Back ^_^ @ 03:27 pmFeeling better today than we have in weeks. I have managed to answer as many comments as I could and I have gone back a few pages on the flist and responded there as well. If you didn't receive a comment from us on a recent entry it is because it was farther back than I went. After 60 entries I tend to stop. Even back into the downloading game - working on another anime series and a couple things for Kadaj. And we are listening to music again. Genesis is even reading. That's a good sign - though I don't know if Greek tragedies are a good thing or a bad thing for him to be reading. Either way, it doesn't matter, because what this all means is that we are getting better. I even managed to set up semagic for multiple posting, so now we can crosspost everywhere - yays! Working the weekend, so we will probably still be a little scarce with the scheduling and everything - we need to sleep sometime. I hope everyone's day is going just as good as mine - if not better! ^__^ August 14th, 2008 |
